I’m an ordinary woman set on getting the most I can out of this life. Yeah, who says we can’t have it all? Scratch that, I’m not ordinary. I’m unique, as I believe we each are. Variety is the spice of life, right? Life is a big winding journey, and along the way I like writing about whatever wills itself to the tips of my fingers.

I love biology, medicines and all that other (fun!) stuff about preserving life so I went to med school. No, not to be a medical doctor. I’m a pharmacist. Also, I love fashion so I’m a model as well. I prefer runway modeling.

I’ve always loved writing, ergo the blogging. When I first started blogging over at Blogger I thought I’d write about fashion and all things fun and light, for a target audience, namely my contemporaries. That changed along the way. My blog is now a conduit for me to express myself, and think out loud. I think it, I write it. Since my mind is always wandering about, I find myself writing about anything and almost everything.

The Eclectic LadyBird. I feel the name fits me well. I’m not one one to put myself in a box. Even if I tried, I’d fail, I’m sure. My interests in just about everything are… yes, eclectic! I’m still trying to figure out if I’m Type A or Type B personality, although I think I’m mostly A. No, forget it, I’m not sure. And that’s just fine by me. The LadyBird part has nothing to do with beetles, I promise you, and more to do with lady and chic. Chic as in you look chic, not chic as in chick. But yes, LadyBird. That actually makes me laugh a little at myself. Please don’t ask how I came to the name, I just did. It sort of fell into my brain, and fit perfectly. So the Eclectic LadyBird, I am. For now, at least. Hopefully I won’t outgrow the name anytime soon. That happened with my last blog name. Don’t ask.

A little more about this Eclectic LadyBird: Ugandan, born and bred. Love travelling but afraid of winter. I abhor the cold, I’m a girl of the tropics. My taste in music is (yes, you guessed it!) eclectic, but I think South African music is pretty awesome. It is so full of soul. Maybe that’s why I could never get enough of the Whoopi Goldberg movie on apartheid, Sarafina. Once upon a time I could recite every line in that movie. No I’m not South African. East African, Ugandan, like I said.

If I had to choose a flavour it would be ginger, if I were a flavour it would be banana. If it’s ice cream give me pistachio any day, or that Indian flavour – kulfi.
